Yarn Ball Boogie

When you don’t want the floppyness of a scarf. Part 1

One skein projects are like antidepressants in a ball. It’s like, just whip one up and you’re instantly happy.

I love this thing. And here’s the free pattern:

Fourteen

Materials:

Gauge not really important.

Cast on 14 sts. Work brioche rib for approx 20″.  For those unfamiliar - brioche rib is accomplished by knitting the first row, then on the next and every following row, *K1, knit one stitch into the row below, repeat from *, ending with K2.  Every row is worked the same.

Next row: knit

Next row: k3, yo, k2tog, k2, yo, k2tog, k2, yo, k2tog, k2.

Knit 2 rows

BO in garter st.

Weave in ends, and wrap around your neck, marking for where you want the buttons, or just put them here:

And be fabulous.

Like me.

Enjoy.

    Hi!

Love this scarf and i´m trying to do it. I´ve frogged it 3 times already… My question is: how do you make the sides look so nice? (maybe it´s a stupid question but I´m new to this).

Thanks a lot for the pattern and the scarf is great.

    Ana

I love this! Are there any buttonholes to make or are the buttons there for decoration only?

  37. bandit a la mode December 21st, 2009 8:14 pm

this is cool, but had a hard time at first because brioche has to be worked in multiples of three to work, so cast on 15.

  38. Lindsay January 22nd, 2010 3:51 am

    Love the yarn choice!

Ana: You can make sides look better by slipping the first stitch of every row.
